USD/CHF Fails to Hold Above 200-Day EMA, Slips Below 0.9000 Level

The USD/CHF fell 0.30% during Monday’s trading session, failing to consolidate above the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) at 0.9018, and dropping below the low of 0.9000.

Correspondingly, the daily chart shows a more pronounced neutral to bearish trend in the USD/CHF, with the bears gradually taking over. The Relative Strength Index is below its mid-lines and is still pointing down, indicating that the bearish sentiment continues, while the red column of the MACD indicator is rising. In the shorter time frame (4 hours), the RSI is deep in negative territory at 35, close to oversold territory, while the MACD histogram shows a rising red bar.

On the daily chart, the USD/CHF is trading below its 20- and 200-day simple moving averages, but above its 100-day SMA, suggesting that the long-term outlook is slowly turning bearish.

Support levels: 0.8980, 0.8950, 0.8905 (100-day moving average).

Resistance levels: 0.9018 (200-day EMA), 0.9040, 0.9070.
