INR Experiences Modest Losses as NIFTY Reaches Two-Week High

The Indian rupee witnessed slight losses today, albeit maintaining a relatively stable range on Thursday, as domestic equities surged. While the INR has shown signs of recovery from recent record lows against the US dollar, the strength of the US dollar index has hindered significant advances for the local currency. The US dollar index remains above the 104 mark, with market focus shifting towards forthcoming crucial inflation data, particularly the US PCE price index.

On Wednesday, the rupee depreciated by 4 paise, closing at 83.33 against the US dollar. Presently, it continues to trade marginally lower by 3 paise, standing at 83.36 per US dollar. Concurrently, local equities experienced notable gains, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index reaching a two-week high around the 22,370 mark.
